I don't care how carefully you put in the pins, sometimes you just manage to hit one!! I hate it! The other day the needle and pin got jammed with some of the material in my stitch plate. I had to work and work to get it all out. It was very frustrating. To top it off, it was as I made a muslin that just did not fit at all. Frustration piled upon frustration!

Ouch...that one hurts...just as long as it didn't mess up Janome's timing...
If you lay your pins perpendicular to the needle you should be able to sew over them. I sewed a whole 200 in. hem with pins in that way.
Yeah, yeah, smarty pants, that one WAS perpendicular. Sometimes you get lucky. Sewing over pins does weaken the line of stitching, however.
