Today we're just hanging out at home, but I felt like wearing a skirt. This is
Butterick 4461 worn with
BWOF 08/2009-114 (also worn on
Day 4). I really like this print but alas, it is quilting cotton, so I don't really like the way the skirt hangs. I should have listened to
Elaine...

I'm ashamed to admit that my navy dot dress (that doesn't fit) was made of quilt fabric. I still like and like a dork I will wear it if I get it to fit. Probably won't make a garment out of it again though.
I missed that particular post by Elaine, so I had to go read it - too funny. I agree with most of what she said, but I still like to use quilting cottons for my shirts (that would be the ones that I actually wear). But then, I also like to iron and any shirt made from 100% cotton is really going to need to be ironed.
That said, I really like your shirt - it looks very comfortable.
That's a great outfit. Note to myself - I really must try to look this good when just hanging out at home!
I like the lines of the skirt. Alas--I think you don't realize how quilting fabric makes weird hanging clothes until you do it. I have a really fun gored Vogue skirt that I made when I first started sewing that I made out of quilting cotton in a fit of sheer ignorance. It's a shame too because it fits fantastically, and it IS so hard to find good prints.
Very cute! I can't believe that you have been able to stick to wearing things that you have made all month. I don't think I have enough garments made to do that!!!!
