Well, after much too much angst on my part, my mini wardrobe is finished. Some of the angst had to do with the fact that my capris were too small, but Mitch managed to save the day with a great skirt design, which I love. So the only unresolved issue is which tops to enter. I made 3, but can only enter 2. Here are my selections, paired with both bottoms for your convenience.
This is the first top that I made, but I didn't really intend it for the contest, I just really love it and think it coordinates well.
This is Mitch's favorite. Clingy knit + tons of cleavage - who's shocked by that? I like it, too. It's fun and cute and looks good with both bottoms.
This is my token woven. I'm not sure I love it, and my instinct is to throw it over for its knit buddies, but then my wardrobe is 3 knits and a pair of jeans. Hmm.
What do you think, dear readers? I'd really love your input! Which tops are your favorites?
I like the top & bottom pics best - yes include the woven blouse. The middle top is cute too, mind you - but the others seem to photograph better.
ReplyDeleteThe print top has more of a "wow" factor, and it blends with the skirt and capris, as well.
ReplyDeleteThey're all cute and I'm glad I don't have to be the one to make the final decision.
ReplyDelete#1 and #3.
ReplyDeleteI like the two knit tops. They are all cute, though. Tough decision!
ReplyDeleteI like the style of the 2 bottom tops better than the top, but I think the top knit has more pizzaz and adds a lot just by being a wild print. I think the second top is my favorite on you. I think the third top shows the most sewing skill. So, let's see, I can't decide!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the 3 knits and a pair of jeans option!
ReplyDeleteI like all three - they all look great on you!
ReplyDeleteI like the top knit and the woven. They're all cute but I like those two best.
ReplyDeleteOh this is difficult. I think all three are super cute, but since I have to only pick 2 my vote is for the 2 knit tops. :)

ReplyDeleteHmmm.... i think top #2 has more wow factor, but top #3 is more versatile (can be worn with a belt as you've shown, or open over a cami), which seems more in the spirit of a mini wardrobe? So jealous yours is done! I am secretly hoping that I might finish a very very simple one as I have next weekend all to myself. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work! For wearing - I like the knit tops (the top two) but for the contest - I would recommend putting the woven with one of the first two - it shows, I think, more skill and sewing versatility. great job!!
ReplyDeleteI say go for the two knit tops!
ReplyDeleteI would pick the print knit (not small strips) and the button down.
ReplyDeleteGreat sewing!
ReplyDeleteFrom far away the striped blouse almost looks solid. You can tell that when you click to enlarge, but if you just look at the photo as is, it is hard to see it.
I vote for the woven blouse with a belt. IMO, it is the best color on you.
All three are great - I don't think I could decide (No 2 I really like and I can't choose between the other two)
ReplyDeleteI vote the 2 knits, unless the rules say they want to see a range of skills.
ReplyDeleteLove all 3, but REALLY love the 2 knits! Could be I'm just prejudiced towards knits. Which I am. :D
ReplyDeleteBut I REALLY love those 2 knit tops of yours!
Lynn
The 2 knit tops are very flattering. I vote for them. The first has such a great print, and the striped one is such a now pattern.
